About Us

Cobblestone Farm breeds and sells Irish Connemara ponies. The Connemara is a large native pony from the west of Ireland. They average 14 to 14.2 hands and are known for their good nature, hardiness, athletic ability and intelligence. After almost twenty years of owning and breeding Connemaras, we are retiring, so will be selling some of our best ponies to reduce our herd.

We have carefully selected our broodmares to reflect the best characteristics and bloodlines of the breed. Then, we choose stallions to complement them. The resulting foals are raised on our hills where they can run to build strong bones and muscles. They are all handled daily to establish respect and friendship with their humans.

The youngsters start their under saddle work with dressage training which is the basis of all riding disciplines. Later, they are introduced to jumping although it comes naturally to most Connemaras. By this time, we can usually tell which discipline the ponies want to pursue, and we begin to lightly show them. We have produced ponies that compete in eventing, dressage, hunters, jumpers, and driving as well as ponies who are someone’s best friend.

We are located in Raymond, California – on forty-five acres in the rolling foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, about an hour from Yosemite National Park.
